The producers who brought the hit shows “Take it to the Limit: A Tribute to the Eagles” and the Journey tribute show “Don’t Stop Believin'” to Ozark Mountain Country are excited to debut “Bad Moon Risin’,” an all-new show for 2015. “Bad Moon Risin'” is a rock ‘n’ roll concert that takes the audience through the life and times of one of the greatest American bands of all time, Creedence Clearwater Revival.
For the past few years, many of the hundreds of thousands of visitors flocking to Branson have had an insatiable thirst for classic rock ‘n’ roll, and this all-new show at the Tribute Theatre is giving people all they can handle, and more. Billed as a “rockumentary” of sorts, the story of Creedence Clearwater Revival unfolds over two rocking hours, complete with stories, videos and live music highlighting some of the band’s greatest hits, including “Green River,” “Born on the Bayou,” “Lookin’ Out My Backdoor,” “Have You Ever Seen the Rain,” “Down On the Corner,” “Bad Moon Risin'” “Proud Mary” and many, many more.
A Show for the Veterans
The music of Creedence Clearwater Revival is as popular today as ever, thanks in large part to the Veterans of the Vietnam War. The band saw their greatest success from the fall of 1968 through January of 1970, which also happened to be the most turbulent years of the Vietnam War. The music of Creenence Clearwater Revival not only served as a soundtrack to so many brave men and women serving in southeast Asia, but it also helped them hang on to the images of friends, family and loved ones – everything they were fighting to protect. With this in mind, producers of “Bad Moon Risin'” are featuring three of the most iconic Creedence songs in a way they’ve never been used before. The presentation, atmosphere and arrangement of these songs create an emotional and uplifting tribute to the veterans unlike any other tribute in this town, or any other. These are men who laid their lives on the line so we could enjoy living in the greatest country in the world, so it is important to remember that this is their music… this is their show… and this is their tribute.
Starring former “Legends in Concert” Blues Brother Bucky Heard, guitarist Larry Holiday, drummer Steve Froese, bassist Dennis Groves and rhythm guitarist and producer Jon Sousan, “Bad Moon Risin'” seamlessly blends concert quality music, production, lighting, soundpassion and multimedia to tell the story of four boys from southern California who made a name for themselves playing swamp rock, and in doing so, changed the world. Featuring timeless Creedence classics performed by a live band in a concert atmosphere mixed in with more than a few laughs, this show is perfect for anyone who loves great times and better music.
